For 2007, the TSX features additional horsepower, exterior styling changes, interior updates including HandsFreeLink wireless interfaces, and an optional navigation system. The 2.4-liter iVTEC In-line 4-cylinder engine has been modified to produce a power of 205 hp. Exterior styling updates include refined grille, new bumpers, new side-marker lights, fog lights, side sills, and restyled taillights. Top competitors to the Acura TSX include the BMW 3 Series, Lincoln Zephyr, the Lexus IS, Subaru Legacy and the Volkswagen Jetta. The TSX comes with a basic vehicle warranty of 48 months or 50,000 miles and a powertrain warranty of 72months or 70000 miles. The Acura TSX is available in two options the base and a higher version with Navigation System. Both options come with a 5-speed Automatic and a 6-speed Manual option. It seats five passengers and has an extensive list of standard features. Engine and Performance High revving, sinewy engine The front-wheel-drive TSX draws 205 horsepower and 164 lb-ft. of torque out of the 4-cylinder 2.4-liter iVTEC engine which begs to rev. Drive-by-wire throttle helps the torque to respond. Smooth power delivery without strain or surge comes from Honda's latest variable valve timing and lift system. The six-speed manual gearbox is notably smooth and quick. Four wheel Independent double-wishbone with multi-link suspension system helps keep the vehicle stable. The TSX meets Low Emissions Vehicle-1 (LEV-1) exhaust standards, some of the toughest emission regulations in the U.S. The 6-speed manual achieves 22/30 mpg (city/highway) and the 5-speed automatic gets 23/31 mpg (city/highway) in terms of fuel economy. Walk-around Impressive and elegant sport-sedan The TSX is a state-of-the-art sports sedan. Impressive and elegant, it sports its own smiley signature grille. The nose is clean and blunt. Horizontal xenon HID headlamps curve around the front and rear fenders. The rear window slopes down to meet a short trunk. Turn-signal indicators on side mirrors, all-season tires fitted to 17-inch alloy wheels, and a gracefully sculpted wedge design make for a superior aerodynamic profile. Chrome dual exhausts tucked under the rear fascia emphasize the car’s cool attitude. The TSX is 183.5 inches long with a wheelbase of 105.1 inches. Standard features include heated outside mirrors, power moonroof, integrated glass antenna, remote entry system, tinted glass, body-colored front and rear bumpers, intermittent windshield wipers, and dual-chrome tipped exhausts. Comfort, Controls and Convenience Well-equipped cabin, plenty of amenities Interiors are comfortable and just what you need for that road trip you want to take. Satin-finish or simulated wood trimmings hug the insides from door to door. There is a neat 3-spoke steering wheel, wrapped in snug-fit perforated leather. The driver's seat is great and there is plenty of legroom. Rubber-coated pedals feel good. The shift knob blends function and style with leather and polished aluminum. A touch away is a sound system with a six-CD player. Cool blue ambient lighting illuminates the console controls at night. You even have a moonroof. Everything is just right for those long drives. Standard features include heated, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, leather upholstery, split folding rear seats, automatic climate control, stereo with 6-disc CD changer and 8 speakers, dual zone automatic climate control, power windows, door locks, Homelink remote control system, side-window defoggers, and an outside temperature gauge. Acura's impressive DVD-based Navigation system (optional) is among the best with a big, crisp display that gives accurate instructions using voice-activated software. Driving Impressions Balanced ride, wonderfully tuned engine The TSX is very much a driver's car with a wonderfully tuned engine. When you combine a close-ratio, six-speed gearbox with an engine that makes its most horsepower at an awesome 7000 rpm, you get to change gears frequently without any trouble. It brakes as smoothly as it starts and shifts. Its Independent double wishbone front and Multi-link rear suspensions can make the most of sketchy roads without tipping over or bouncing. Also standard on the TSX is a Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control that will maintain the vehicles balance in the toughest scenarios. Push the TSX through some curves, and it will come out on top. Handling is a whiz. Bottom line is, whether you downshift, accelerate to pass a car, or open throttle on the freeway, the TSX performs beautifully. Safety Safety standard not optional A full complement of safety features protects the 2007 Acura TSX with an advanced crumple zone system, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, seat-mounted side airbags for front occupants, full-length side curtain airbags, stability control, and an all-new tire pressure monitoring system. LATCH system, Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, a collapsible steering column, Automatic Tensioning System, and side curtain airbags come as standard, as do adaptive front headlamps that swivel to illuminate better around corners. |
